As a tourist town Oxford offers a wide variety of accommodation at a selection of different price-points and so we are asking all delegates to book their own accommodation for the conference.

It would be impossible to provide an exhaustive list here, but we have compiled a selection below that you may be interested in.  Of particular note is the first, Pembroke College, where we have secured a number of rooms at a preferential rate for conference attendees.

Pembroke College

Founded in 1624 and located right in the heart of Oxford, Pembroke's accommodation is located over four quadrangles – boasting stunning architecture in a multiplicity of different styles from the 15th to the 21st centuries.

Samuel Johnson, JRR Tolkien, Senator J. William Fulbright, Lord (Michael) Heseltine and US Senator Richard Lugar are just a few amongst a wide selection of the college’s distinguished alumni.

The Macdonald Randolph Hotel Oxford

Beaumont Street, Oxford, OX1 2LN

The Randolph is probably Oxford’s most well-known luxury hotel. Sitting squarely in the city centre it is adjacent to the Oxford Playhouse Theatre and opposite the beautiful and world-famous Ashmolean Musuem.

It was built in 1864 and has featured in a wide range of television and film productions including Inspector Morse, after whom one of the hotel’s bars is named. President Bill Clinton, Michael Douglas and a wide variety of visiting royalty are amongst past guests at the hotel.

The Malmaison

How often can you say that you have stayed in a converted prison in a medieval castle?! 

If you are looking for a unique place to stay while in Oxford then the Malmaison may be the place for you. Many of the hotel’s rooms and suites are genuine converted prison cells and the unique character of these rooms is not to be missed.

You do however need to remember not to feel hard done by if you find yourself paying to be in the A-Wing, where prisoners once stayed for free as guests of Her Majesty!

Cotswold Lodge Hotel

This 4-star central Oxford hotel is the perfect base from which to explore the historic city, and is located a pleasant walk from the Mathematics institute where FORCE2015 is taking place.

The Old Parsonage Hotel

The small but beautiful 17th century Old Parsonage hotel is ranked by many as the best hotel in Oxford. It is situated near the heart of the city at the end of the St Giles and is a very short walk from FORCE2015. Located on the High Street & opposite Magdalen College, this 3-star hotel puts you right in the centre of the city.

Steeped in history and built on the site of a 17th century Coaching Inn the hotel retains its original atmosphere, complemented by contemporary décor, air conditioning and internet access.

C.S Lewis became engaged to his girlfriend in the restaurant at the hotel, while JRR Tolkien ate at the hotel daily and lived next door.
