Travelling by car

Oxford suffers from severe traffic congestion and limited parking so we recommend that if possible you use public transport when visiting the City.   If you are driving you may like to use one of the  Park and Ride  facilities around the city.  We  recommend the number 300 Park & Ride bus from either Redbridge or Peartree, as this stops almost immediately outside the Mathematical Institute.

From London and the South-East
Take Junction 8 (A40) from the M40 and follow straight through towards the City Centre; turn right immediately past Magdalen Bridge.

From the North
Junction 9 off the M40 leads to North Oxford.

From the West
The A40 also enters North Oxford, at the Banbury Road. Then approach via Parks Road.

From the South or South-West
Take the A34 or A420 to the Botley interchange.

Parking

Parking is not available at the Mathematical Institute, however the city centre has a range of (expensive) car parking available. The nearest is on-street parking along St Giles, with a number of larger car parks on the other side of the city centre.  We highly recommend you use the number 300 Park & Ride bus from either Redbridge or Peartree, as this stops almost immediately outside the Mathematical Institute.

Travelling by rail

The Mathematical Institute is approximately 20 minutes' walk from the railway station. Taxi services are available outside the Station entrance.
