FSCI Registration and Housing Policies

FSCI 2020

This document outlines the terms, conditions, and policies set in place by the FORCE11 pertaining to registration for the annual FORCE11 Scholarly Communications Institute being held August 3 – 7, 2020 at UCLA in Los Angeles, California.  Please review the following important information.

Terms & Conditions

Effective December 1, 2019

Completing the registration process and submitting payment constitutes an agreement on your part to accept the following terms and conditions.

Tuition and Housing Types

You agree to pay in full the fee that is applicable to your registration category and if selecting UCLA campus housing, the full housing fees. For example, current full-time students possessing valid student identification are entitled to register at the student rate.

Confirmation

You will receive your registration confirmation and payment receipt by email. Please ensure that your email address is entered correctly.

Housing Cancellations

If you need to cancel, you must notify us via email us fsci-info@force11.org by Wednesday, July 1, 2020, and your housing fees will be refunded less a $50.00 processing fee.  NO HOUSING REFUND after this date. 

Tuition Cancellation and Refunds

If you need to cancel, you must notify us fsci-info@force11.org by Wednesday, July 15, 2020, and your tuition fees will be refunded less a $50 processing fee. No refunds will be given for Housing after July 1, 2020.

Refunds will apply to either the credit card used for payment of the original fee or in the form of a check drawn on a US bank. All refunds will be processed after the FSCI event has concluded. Cash refunds will not be considered.

Refunds will not be provided for late arrivals, early departures, “no-shows”, or cancellation requests received after Wednesday, July 15, 2020.

Substitutions & Transfers

You may transfer your registration to another eligible party if you are unable to attend FSCI. Attendees transferring registrations to another party are responsible for any and all financial arrangements between transferring and receiving parties. Registration transfers and substitutions may be requested via email until Wednesday, July 15, 2020. After this date, any change requests will be evaluated on an individual basis. There will be a $25 processing fee charged per registration transfer.

Travel & Hotel

Attendees are responsible for securing their own travel and accommodation and making payment for such. Cancellation of hotel or UCLA housing reservations and/or any travel expenses incurred are the sole responsibility of each individual.
