General Committee Structure

The Groups Committee members include 1 Chair, 1 Vice Chair, 1 BOD member and members from the community 

Purpose/Goals of the Committee 

Determine the overall goals and direction of the institute and its principal educational mission.

Committee Scope/Description 

  • Reviewing assessment data from previous institutes
  • Seeking input from the FSCI Community
  • Working with all partners involved in FSCI

Activities of the Committee

  • Approve any substantive changes to FSCI events
  • Maintain partnerships with other groups and institutions involved with FSCI
  • Review and approve the budget for each FSCI event

Roles & desired skills

  • Substantive knowledge of the Scholarly Communication ecosystem
  • Experience in conducting continuing education efforts for academic professionals

Members of the Committee 

Committee Member Commitment

The term of service on the committee is three years, with an option to extend once. Committee members commit to attending monthly meetings of the Committee via Zoom, and contributing to the duties of the committee as befits their skills and capacity.

How to Join the Committee

If you’re interested in joining FSCI Steering, please submit a request form linked below, and we will get back to you when spaces are open. Generally, the committee chooses new members in the months following the annual FSCI event, but new members can be added at other times, at the discretion of the committee.
