Biography | Dr. Subhani has an intensive record of promoting open science, ethical initiatives & open movements in scholarly communication. He is a PhD in Financial Econometrics from IQRA University (The number 1 Business School in Pakistan) and Postdoc in open science, from the Federal university of Goiás, Brazil. Dr. Subhani is the Thomson Reuters award-winning editor (2015) for advocating open science in scholarly publishing.
He is serving for DOAJ (Directory of open access journals) as an Ambassador of DOAJ while focusing on liaising with policymakers, publishers, and universities for open access scholarly publishing along with the recognition of DOAJ by the authorities in the region in local lists of accredited journals. Dr. Subhani also works for Society for Scholarly Publishing (SSP), as an education committee member, and educating scholarly community while being engaged in SSP talk shows such as, Ethical Challenges in Scholarly Publishing.
Dr. Subhani has been recently selected by FORCE11 as one the new Directors of FORCE11.
Being a CC Pakistan chapter lead (chapter in formation), he is working for CC initiatives/ movements in the region. Dr. Subhani has received three research grants:
Further, he is also a member of Creative Commons Global Network, CC Open GLAM, and Research Data Publishing Ethics, FORCE 11. Dr. Subhani is a scientific publishing consultant & a technical committee member of HEC Journals’ Recognition System, at the Higher Education Commission, Government of Pakistan. Dr. Subhani is the prolific author of several scientific articles in peer-reviewed journals. Currently, Dr. Subhani is serving at ILMA University as the Professor & Dean of the Faculty of Management Sciences and the Director of Post Graduate Studies & Research. He is also an Editor of PLOS ONE, USA-an open access impact factor journal. |
