We are heading into the third and final day of FORCE2021: Joining Forces to Advance the Future of Research Communications!
The day’s full lineup is pretty well timed for Africa and Europe, as long as you’re prepared to stay festive into the evening for the Closing Remarks and Open Publishing Awards starting at 21:00 UTC! Keep in mind you have no early flight home to catch the next morning!
You’ll start the day with some sessions well-timed to also be accessible in Asia:
First, join the panel Discoverability in (a) Crisis with speakers Dr. Suzanne Dumouchel, Dr. Brigitte Mathiak, and Nancy Kwangwa, Manager for Scholarly Communication and Publishing at the University of Zimbabwe Library.
Next, there will be a Community Conversation on Open Metadata–come and join to kickstart the next metadata movement–then enjoy an array of Community Presentations.
Before we bid goodnight to Asia, there is still time for the Deep Dive into the Ethics of Contributor Roles with speakers Dr. Kristi Holmes; Violeta Ilik, Dean of University Libraries at Adelphi University; and Dr. Nicole Vasilevsky. This session will feature an in-session survey to explore the views of attendees about contributor roles and breakout sessions moderated by the working group experts.
Next, Americas, it’s time for your schedule-friendly keynote! Let’s make a strong showing. Biologist Dr. Anindita Bhadra, Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, will address the conference on The Future of Science Work: Pandemic Impacts on Scientific Communication & Collaboration.
The conference’s final panel brings you Dr. Paulina Tindana, Dr. Mario Malicki, Dr. Anna Hatch, and Alex Menezes, Senior Vice President, Global Health Strategies speaking on The Future of Research Assessment in the Open Science Era.
Next up we have our final set of Community Presentations, with your friendly conference blogger as moderator. This fast-paced session will be the perfect warm-up for the Closing Remarks and Open Publishing Awards!
(If that was not quite enough FORCE2021 for you, there is a final post-conference Hackathon to continue work on Software Citations Friday at 13:00 UTC.)
Enjoy the final day of the conference, and share your best memories and takeaways on social media with #FORCE2021. Keep your eyes open for a handful of additional conference blog posts, too!
