FORCE11 receives award to put data citation principles into action

FORCE11 has received an award to fund a pilot project to continue our work to promote machine-actionable citation of data in scholarly works.  The pilot will bring together journals, publishers and authors to test a formal system for data citation.  The project is a supplement to bioCADDIE, an NIH-sponsored project to develop a data discovery index for biomedicine.  This pilot project will be guided by the Joint Declaration of Data Citation Principles and the recommendations of the Data Citation Implementation Working group to create machine-accessible data citations.  Although the pilot will be focused on biomedicine, we welcome input from all FORCE11 stakeholders and allied groups with experience in data citation.  The FORCE11 project will be led by Dr. Tim Clark, Harvard University, and Maryann Martone, UCSD and Hypothes.is.
