Force2019 Edinburgh was a blast! Thank you again for all organizers, presenters, and attendees for making it a fun and informative meeting. For those that couldn’t make it, talks from the main room were recorded and slides are available online.
As we head into the new year, we are looking toward how our community can best support next year’s Force11 events: FSCI2020 and FORCE2020. That’s where you come in!
Two opportunities to support the Force11 community:
- FSCI 2020: Call for Course Proposals
- FORCE 2020: Call for Volunteers
FSCI 2020
Call for proposals due next week. Please consider submitting a course proposal for the Force11 Scholarly Communications Institute (FSCI) by November 18, 2019 — both new and returning instructors are welcome!
FSCI2020 is being held once again at UCLA in Los Angeles, California from August 3-7, 2020. Instructors range from up-and-coming researchers and practitioners to world-leading experts. The only requirement is that you are passionate about passing on your knowledge and experience in Scholarly Communication and Open Research to FSCI attendees. More information is available at: https://www.force11.org/fsci-2020-call-for-course-submissions/
Or feel free to email us at fsci-info@force11.org if you would like more information on our schol comms institute!
FORCE 2020
If you have experience in conference organizing, program planning, communication, graphic design, marketing, and are interested in joining a fun and dedicated group, we need your help!
We are putting together a conference organizing committee to focus on the FORCE 2020 Conference to be held October 19-21 in San Sebastián-Donostia, Spain. We are accepting expressions of interest until November 30, 2019.
More information is available at: https://www.force11.org/force2021/
Or feel free to email us at info-force-conference@force11.org if you would like to work on putting another great conference!
Please consider responding to one or both. And if you know someone who may have the right experience, please share this with them straight away.
Thanks again for being part of the Force11 community,
Violeta Ilik & John Chodacki
