It is our great pleasure to welcome you to the City of Roses (aka Portland, OR) for Force2016 in just a few short days. Please see some important details about the conference below.
Sunday, 04/17
Workshops will be held at the Collaborative Life Science Building (CLSB) on the South Waterfront. We have a great lineup of workshops, working group meetings, hackathons and data curation sessions. The workshop schedule is available here: https://www.force11.org/workshops/
If you have not already done so, please sign up for the workshops via the link above. Some workshops have limited availability. Lunch is provided for workshop attendees.
Registration for the entire conference will be open from 8am-3pm on Sunday at the CLSB.
The CLSB complex is located on SW Moody at the base of the Tilikum bridge. It is accessible from downtown via Bus (9 & 17); Max light rail (Orange line); and Portland Streetcar (NS-line & B-Loop). For details, consult http://trimet.org/ .
Following the Sunday workshops, there will be a Tram Reception from 5:30-7:30pm, at the tram terminal, a short walk from the CLSB.

The main conference will be held at the Gerding Theater at the Armory, located in the Pearl District.

Force2016 Elevator Pitch
Elevator pitches are open until Monday, April 18 (consider use of Sunday evening hackathon time for last minute ideas!). Enter to win using the Jisc Elevator Pitch software (https://elevator.jisc.ac.uk/e/force2016). Thanks to our generous sponsor Jisc, winning ideas will receive $1,500 and will be invited to present at FORCE17 and will receive funding (up to $2000) to support their travel.
Voting will take place in real time at FORCE2016 during the PITCH IT: INNOVATION CHALLENGE Session on April 19 at 1:15pm when we will be viewing and discussing the submissions (https://www.force11.org/f11_tool/?A=L21lZXRpbmdzL2ZvcmNlMjAxNi9wcm9ncmFtL2FnZW5kYS1kZXRhaWxz&), with winners announced at the end of the FORCE2016 Conference.
