The Publish Trust Framework builds on provenance, trust algorithms and open identity technologies to enable trusted attribute exchange in scholarly communication. It is designed to produce publisher-validated assertions of authorship and scholarly identity attributes, as well as RDF XML payloads of variables related to the origin, machine environment, and policies that accompany an attribute. American Psychological Association in partnership with VIVO, Cornell, and Maryland University is developing a measure for online trust based on these variables. The trust framework will allow scientists to reliably aggregate publications on research network profiles, extend claims to funding agencies, and connect with collaborators.
